Roed Fabel Boelling AA

Insemination and Breeding Season 2014

After 4 years of service in our facilities, we have sold AMackenzie, our first AA sire conceived through embryo transfer, to Brandenburg for further breeding.

This season, our heifers are inseminated by the AA bull Red Six Mile Grand Slam 130Z, a Canadian sire that ranks among the top 10% in weaning and yearling’s weight and stands for easy births at the same time. Regarding milk yield, his mother Red Six Mile Rebecca, is among the top 1%.

As we are very happy with the male and female offspring of our Aberdeen Angus bull Roed Fabel (state champion Tarmstedt 2014) and the first young female bovines are now ready for insemination, Roed Fabel will again be used for breeding with a group of cows. Subsequently, he will work in the herd of our colleague Jörg Fahrenholz.

New to our facilities, the Aberdeen Angus bull Jetstream ET, who was also used as a sire for conformation and type traits, will be used to serve a second group. Jetstream is of pure US American genetic decent. His paternal grandfather is the well-known bull Beckton Lancer F442T. His mother can be traced to Ankonian Dynamo, one of the forefathers of the American Angus breed. The 5-year-old Jetstream has shown excellent muscular development and displays and extraordinarily even temper.

We would like to thank Hans-Jürgen Jäger for allowing us the use of this bull.

Angus Treffen auf Hof Christelhoi im Juli 2014

Schleswig-Holstein Angus meeting at Fam. Clausen in Satrup

On 5 July 2014, over 30 breeders and keepers of Angus cattle from Schleswig-Holstein met on the Christelhoi-Angus (FRZ) cattle farm. Following an extensive tour of the grounds and herds, led by Traute and Kurt Clausen, individual breeding animals were examined. The male offspring of international genetic decent, and particularly the offspring of this year’s Tarmstedt winner Boelling Roed Fabel, impressed in particular. Boelling Roed Fabel is a son of Red DMM Brylor Thump 2T. Their excellent own offspring, largely characterized by strong Canadian and Australian Aberdeen Angus genetics implemented via insemination and embryo transfer, is supplemented by heifers from the Czech Republic and Denmark.

Afterwards, the guests were served T-bone steaks fresh from the grill, a real delicacy that once again proved the excellent quality of Angus meat with good values for marbling and tenderness!

After representatives of the FRZ (Dr. Walter Reulecke) and RSH (Claus Henningsen) declared the meeting a successful one, it was agreed that the German “Angus landscape” is in need of a Schleswig-Holstein delegation, to take care of issues and concerns of the breed, as well as ensure a better interconnection. It was agreed that this should be addressed cooperatively.

We are certain that this was not the last meeting of this kind. The FRZ would like to thank the Clausen family for this perfectly organized meeting and wishesall the best for the success of a “Schleswig-Holstein Angus Interest Group“.

Christelhoi-Angus – goes black!

Christelhoi-Angus – goes black!

Friends of our red angus genetic can´t believe it! Two Black Aberdeen Angus calves are born the 22th and 25th of August at Christelhoi-Angus. “Black Iron Ore” and “Pepp” a male and a female calve from the red Australian AI Sire “Paringa Iron Ore” bring new influence in our angus breeding.

Calving season 2014 has begun!

Teresa has been born – The new calving season has begun.

This afternoon, the first calve of the new season was born. The Aberdeen Angus heifer Tessa, a daughter of the canadian sire Traction, has given birth to her first calve by the Australian sire Iron Ore. Due to the genetically shorter gestation period, it was born 8 days before the due date.

The calve ways 28kg (61.7lbs) and is – as you can see – in great shape!

Roed Fabel

Roed Fabel – Angus State Winner in Tarmstedt 2014

Roed Fabel Red Angus bull

Of the four Angus bulls that were presented in the category of Tested Sires, the Danish Boelling Roed Fabel, prepared by Jörg Fahrenholz and presented by Kurt Clausen, won 1st place. Roed Fable is a Red Aberdeen Angus, son of the Canadian sire Thump 2T and out of a daughter of Red U-2 Infinite 408P.

Jury member Friedrich Averbeck particularly praised the good transition from the strong shoulder to the long and wide back and the pronounced hind quarter. His sound and well defined structure completes the picture of an impressive, harmonious sire.

Roed Fabel has been working on Kurt Clausen’s farm since May 2011. At the moment, Roed Fabel is working on the farm of Jörg Fahrenholz, who acquired a 50% share of the bull in February 2014.
